Thank you, Peterborough!

This past weekend we hosted over 1500 people at showplace for the annual Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour. A celebration of mountain culture and community, the film festival brings an entire world of adventure, mind-boggling sporting feats and mountain culture to the big screen right here in Peterborough. We have been celebrating the BMFF with you, our most fun-loving customers for almost 30 years!

Each year the festival acts as both a way to come together and share our passions as well as a powerful fundraiser for our community.

This year is one that we are very proud of as we were able to introduce our new initiative, the Wild Rock ComPassion Project. Funds raised by and for the ComPassion Project will support organizations that are striving to end homeless, support individuals and families fighting addiction as well as those organizations preserving our wild places and access to those wild places. The ComPassion Project will also advocate for the well-being of our neighbours, friends and the spaces we play in.

As always, the films were fun and inspirational but the highlight for us was being able to celebrate the work of our partner organizations. With the support of the Wild Rock community, we were able to present grant cheques and wild cheers to each of the partnered organizations. Together the ComPassion Project granted over $55,000 to the 6 partner organizations who are working on behalf of all of us to make Peterborough the community that we all want it to be.
