How much of my money will go into administration costs?
Our goal for the ComPassion Project is to ensure that as much of each donation as possible ends up in the hands of our Partner Organizations. Unfortunately, there are costs to processing payments that are layered into almost everything that we do in our modern world. The good part is that each one of us can take some control over these costs.
Below we break down the costs as clearly as possible. The only cost that is absolutely fixed is that the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough charges us 2% for managing our fund, which is a tiny amount of money considering the amazing work that they do. Beyond that, the way in which a donation is made will determine the administration cost, which will be somewhere between 2% and 11%.* Making a donation using the Canada Helps "Donate" button has a cost, using our in-store TipTap machine has a cost and using a credit card can have a significant cost. Ultimately, every donation helps but if you would like to maximize the impact of your donation then the best thing you can do is to drop off a cheque in person. And hey, that means we get to say thanks in person!

It’s easy and straightforward to give. Donate at your convenience via the Tip Tap Kiosk in-store. This allows you to donate $5 or $20 via debit or credit card in a simple tap.
Generally, if you were to donate $100 with the most expensive combination of fees. You can expect to see around 90% of your donation will go through to the CFGP.

*we averaged the range of fees and chose 2.5%. This fee is dependent on the credit card being used. Certain rewards cards charge the merchant upwards of 5% when paying for goods and services.
By donating directly via cheque, we can ensure that 98% of your monetary donation will go directly through to the Foundation. There are no other hidden fees.

We think it’s very important to note, that Wild Rock Outfitters has no financial gain on money donated. There's no fees, no tax breaks - nothing! All donations are directly sent to the Community Foundation who will then distribute your donation to the six non-profit organizations participating in the ComPassion Project. We even encourage you to donate directly to the non-profit organization of your choice
The only interest we are working for is the interest in the betterment of our community.
